Semester 1 of Sophomore Year
Projects This Semester
This semester we started with photoshop tutorials which were quite easy. Then we moved to illustrator things along with some other photoshop stuff. I liked the illustrator stuff more because I understand photoshop more than illustrator. My two favorite projects from this semester were the pop art project and the infographic because I had creative control over what I was going to produce. My bechance profile where you can se more of my work is https://www.behance.net/jadenb41877cf .
Pop Art
The project was to take pictures and make them into pop art using adobe photoshop. For me it took a couple of days to complete because I did two different images but the one you can see now is my favorite of the two. The thing that was most challenging about doing this project was figuring out a way to do pop art but, in a way that stays true to myself. Eventually I found a way to get the results of obnoxious and aesthetically pleasing by using heavily saturated boxes. I don't really know what I learned with this project other than the fact that as much as I love black and white I really do love obnoxious stuff. Feedback I was given while I was working was to not obstruct her eyes as much and yet I didn't listen because I don't like doing what makes sense at times. My opinion this work is that I'm a mess and maybe just a tad bit obnoxious you can see by the way I covered Jenna in boxes.

Infographic
This project was to choose a topic to make an infographic about. The topic I chose was Wes Anderson's nine movies because I have a deep appreciation for the way he creates worlds. This took me about a month to do because at first I had chosen to make it over slam poetry but I made it harder for myself. Therefore I made it annoyingly difficult with my choice to make 27 icons. Challenges I faced while creating this were wanting to continue making 27 icons and figuring out how I was possibly going to finish 27 icons. Along the way I learned that I clearly don't care about how I'm going to finish it. No, in all seriousness I learned a lot about the different ways to use illustrator and how the tools work in illustrator. Feedback I was given along the way was to not start over and after I after I started over the feedback I was given was do not make 27 icons. My opinion is that the 27 icons don't look that great and should have stuck with slam poetry.

Class Time
In times I thought I was done I stayed productive by going backhand thinking of ways to improve my designs and wen I was done doing with that I worked with outside projects. I pretty much did the same outside work when I finished projects early. I guess doing outside projects and messing around in illustrator enhanced my abilities because I was familiarizing myself with the program and its tools. Outside of class I sketch designs for different thins occasionally. Especially when there's some item with really gross packaging I'll think of ways it could look less like a dumpster fire.
Strengths
The two strengths I have as a graphic design student are the fact that I have a basic understanding of the programs we've been using this semester and that I always know how I want things to look. Since I know how I want things to look I don't stop tweeting them until they look exactly how I was envisioning them.Areas of Improvement
The area I can improve in the most is decision making because I am constantly bothering Jenna about every little thing and I don't even take her advice even when it's really good advice. I can also stop distracting Jenna. Also I kind of just suck at graphic deign even though I really enjoy it so it would be nice to make stuff that looks better.
Summary
What I loved most about this semester was spider manning my love to Jenna for any reason. I also really enjoyed the projects since I got the chance to explore illustrator and what I can make in it. My take-away is that I'm doing graphic design next year since I really like it and it doesn't usually make me wanna cry. My goal next semester is to make quality content.
